In late 2008 Le Rougetel developed an addiction for making ceramic primitive heads. Their collective pronoun is - 'Coke Heads'. The artistic framework: think of snorting and collapsed septums and your imagination might be on the the right lines.The deliberately subtle, bumpy crania are spontaneous, the trace of Le Rougetel's hand bursting through the glaze, without compromising the quality of form, line and structure. Like the best in design each 'Coke Head' 'works' from every angle, but even deeper than that possesses the attraction of both the beautiful and the grotesque .
54 'Coke Heads' were made in total between November 2008 and May 2010.
