SCULPTURE: ST MARTINS FINAL YEAR SHOW 2003
'It's All Just Art - Ask the Ants' was an attempt to describe via istallation the process taken to reach a climax of Total Creative Realist De-Constructivism. It was of course meant to be a curatorial joke at art theory's expense. A deliberatley overworked and cluttered installation that incorporated: self portrait photography, ceramic head, a half hour audio interview with the artist, unframed paintings, cut up picture frames, a painting 12 foot by 3 foot on 6mm mdf that was cut up into 30 pieces and the artist books 'Cholestoral' vols 1 & 2.
Cholestoral and the interview set up what Total Creative Realist De-Constructivism purported to be - a parody of Art's pretensions. One suspects that no one has ever read Cholestoral apart from Le Rougetel and that no one has listened to the interview. The tape is lost now, so who bloody cares?
